Man Up Teacher Fellowship was founded to recruit, train, and place a strong pipeline of men of color who can make a meaningful impact in schools while helping ensure the success of all students. Through our five-year fellowship model, participants receive comprehensive academic and professional support, including the opportunity to earn their teaching licensure or certification in Educational Leadership, at no cost. In addition to tuition support, fellows receive Praxis preparation, coaching, mentorship, and ongoing professional development designed to strengthen educator effectiveness and retention. Fellows commit to serving in education for at least five years, helping address critical workforce needs while building strong school communities.
Building on the success of Man Up, we are excited to announce the launch of the National Teachers League (NTL). NTL expands our work beyond a single pathway and creates opportunities for individuals of all backgrounds who are passionate about serving children and young adults.
NTL provides pathways into teaching, nursing, counseling, social work, therapy, school leadership, cybersecurity, and other professions that support student success. Participants receive 100% tuition support, coaching, job placement assistance, certification support, and ongoing professional development. Through partnerships with educator preparation programs and other institutions, NTL helps participants earn the credentials needed to enter and advance within their chosen fields. NTL will also serve high school students in grades 10-12 by providing mentorship, career exploration, paid work-based learning opportunities, financial advising, and paid summer internships that help students prepare for careers focused on serving children and communities.
Together, Man Up and NTL are committed to building sustainable talent pipelines, increasing workforce diversity, and creating pathways into high-impact careers that support schools, students, and families. Our work has attracted support from national organizations, including the NFL Players Association and the NBA Foundation through its Game Plan for Greatness:
Empowering Educators, Elevating Students, Expanding Opportunity initiative. These collaborations have expanded opportunities for educators and students while increasing the reach and impact of our programs.
