Man Up Teacher Residents who are in the Graduate Lane may earn a Master’s degree or teacher certification through one of our partners: RELAY GSE, TeacherReady, Mississippi State University or the University of Memphis.
RELAY GSE
The Relay Master of Arts in Teaching provides students with the tools to build skills and teach with confidence. You’ll engage in frequent practice and receive personalized feedback from expert professors that will enable you to take your teaching to the next level, whether you’re a beginner or a veteran.
The Residency Program at Relay provides aspiring teachers with a supportive, gradual introduction to teaching. Students will gain exceptional mentorship, state certification, a degree and help finding a position in just two years.
Mississippi State University
The MATS program is designed for those holding a bachelor’s degree in a content or discipline area other than education and seeking an initial teaching license in secondary education. The 36-hour degree can be completed entirely online via Distance Education from virtually anywhere in the state of Mississippi and beyond. Students can earn initial licensure and then teach full-time while completing the degree.
TeacherReady
If you have a bachelor’s degree, you can become a certified teacher through TeacherReady’s teacher certification program in less than one year. TeacherReady was one of the first online teacher certification programs to offer an alternative certification route. The program provides an avenue for students to earn professional teacher certification online while still working.
The University of Memphis
The Master of Arts in Teaching program at the University of Memphis provides a unique learning experience that includes a customized curriculum developed to address the needs of in-service urban teachers, innovative coursework that emphasizes cultural competence, social justice and equity and authentic learning experiences connected to the Memphis community. Courses are taught by content experts with K-12 teaching experience. Teachers are provided mentoring and support available throughout the program and one year after graduation.
