For undergraduate students aspiring to be teachers
An undergraduate candidate is one who is within two years of completing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. The Fellow will complete summer coursework through Man Up Teacher Fellowship and attend monthly learning and application sessions until graduation.
Once program requirements are complete and state licensure requirements are met, Man Up Teacher Fellowship will assist graduates with job placement and provide ongoing coaching and support for up to three years.
Man Up Teacher Fellows will recruit men of color who are currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and are aspiring teachers. Man Up Teacher Fellowship will support and mentor these men through college into their professional life.
The Undergrad Lane
- Will be eligible to graduate within two years after acceptance into Man Up Teacher Fellowship
- A minimum 2.75 GPA
- Will complete a one-year residency in a school setting
- Will pass required Praxis exams
- Will commit to Man Up's five-year teaching and mentoring fellowship
